Two cars with same number found plying in Kathua

KATHUA, June 8: Two cars with same registration number were today found plying on National Highway at Rajbagh following which a complaint was lodged at Police Station Rajbagh.
Reports said that a senior KAS officer Abdul Rahim (posted as District Social Welfare Officer, Kathua) while plying his vehicle bearing registration number JK11C-9988 towards Kathua from Tehsil Social Welfare Officer, noticed a vehicle with same registration number plying in the same direction near Chadwal.
Sensing some foul play, the KAS officer immediately telephonically informed SHO Police Station Rajbagh to seize the vehicle. Accordingly, the Rajbagh police stopped the car and after verification its documents were found as scanned duplicate copies with duplicate registration. The owner of Vehicle belongs to Pulwama (Kashmir) told Police that they purchased the car 15 days ago from Srinagar.
On verification of duplicate registration number, car’s chasis number was also found fake and it matched with another car in Delhi. On a written complaint of the original owner of the vehicle number JK11C-9988 Abdul Rahim, a case was registered at Rajbagh police station to find out the fact and figure and arrest the gang operating behind the car theft and tampering of chasis and registration numbers.
