Two burglars held

Srinagar, Apr 12: Police today said it arrested two burglars and recovered stolen property in Baramulla district of north Kashmir.
A police spokesman said that on April 4, police was informed by Farooq Ahmad Bhat of M/s Vodafone that during the intervening night of seven and eight April, some thieves have stolen batteries from mobile tower located at Kanispora area of the district.
“Following this information, a case under FIR number 55/2017 under Section 457, 380 RPC was registered in Police station Baramulla and investigation was taken up,” he said.
The spokesman said during the course of investigation, police succeeded in arresting two people involved in the crime. They were identified as Waseem Ahmad Dar and Irshad Ahmad Gojri.
“Their arrest led to the recovery of 16 stolen batteries and a vehicle bearing registration No: JK01F- 0605, used to commit the crime. Further investigation into the matter is on and more recoveries are expected from the arrested persons,” the police spokesman added.
