Two burglars arrested with stolen property worth lakhs

JAMMU, Apr 20: Gharota Police worked out a theft case with the arrest of two burglars’ alongwith stolen property worth lakhs.
As per police sources, on April 12 this year, a complaint was lodged by Mayawati, wife of Gyani Ram of Madhya Pradesh, at present Kot with Police Station Gharota stating that some unknown thieves entered into her house and decamped with gold and silver jewellery besides cash amount Rs 10,000.
Acting over the complaint, a case under FIR Number 25/2021 under Sections 454 and 380 IPC was registered at Police Station Gharota and investigation started.
During the course of investigation, a special team led by SHO Gharota Inspector Khayati Maan Khajuria and assisted by PSI Anil Kumar was constituted.
The special team rounded up several suspects and finally arrested the thieves, who were identified as Shabir Ahmed, son of Soudagar Hussain and Bahadur Ali, son of Sher Ali, both residents of Keran Bantalab.
On their disclosure, stolen property including one silver Kamar Bati 750 grams, 6 silver rings, 5 golden lockets and Rs 6500 cash were recovered. The arrested persons were drug addicts and had carried out the theft to arrange money for drugs.
Further investigation into the case is going on.
