RAMBAN, Feb 23: Jawahar Tunnel Police arrested two brothers along with 5.800 kilograms poppy straw.
As per police sources, on specific information a team from Police Post Jawahar Tunnel led by PSI Harish Kumar laid a naka near Navyug Tunnel and intercepted a Punjab bound truck bearing registration number PB11AN-8997.
During checking, police team recovered 5.800 kilograms poppy straw from the vehicle and arrested two brothers, who were identified as Sanjeev Kumar and Prakash Kumar, sons of Basant Lal, resident of Guru Arjan Dev Nagar, Samrala Chowk, Ludhiana, Punjab.
A case FIR Number 29/2022 under Section 8/15/29 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Banihal and investigation set into motion.
The overall recovery and arrests were made under the supervision of SHO Banihal Inspector Nayeem-ul-Haq, SDPO Banihal Nissar Ahmed Khoja and SP Ramban Mohita Sharma.
