Two bootleggers held with illicit liquor

JAMMU, Jan 21: Police arrested two bootleggers along with illicit liquor in tehsil Akhnoor.
A police spokesman said that, police team from Jourian police post laid a naka and intercepted a pedestrian namely Ved Ram, son of Ashoka Ram of Malian Jarh, Jourian.
During search, police recovered 30 bottles of liquor and arrested the bootlegger.
A case under FIR number 16/14 under Section 48-A Excise Act has been registered at police station Akhnoor and investigation started.
Meanwhile, police team from Akhnoor police station headed by SHO Pardeep Sharma laid a naka at Main Chowk Akhnoor and intercepted a pedestrian namely Jeet Raj, son of Kartar Chand of Kodayala.
Police recovered 45 pouches of illicit liquor from his possession, which the bootlegger was carrying to earn illegitimate profit by selling these liquor pouches.
A case under FIR number 18/14 under Section 48-A Excise Act has been registered at police station Akhnoor and investigation started.
