JAMMU, Aug 28: Acting tough against the sale and use of banned synthetic threads, Domana Police recovered 1082 rolls of banned nylon thread and arrested two persons.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Chandan Kohli said that to check and book the people indulged in selling of banned nylon thread rolls in violation of District Magistrate Jammu order, a team led by SHO Police Station Domana Inspector Mahesh Sharma and assisted by Incharge Police Post Chinore PSI Avtar Krishan raided several shops and arrested one person namely Manohar Lal, son of Gopal Dass of Lakshmipuram District Jammu with four rolls of banned nylon/synthetic thread.
He said that based on reliable information, a check point was laid at Bantalab and a Honda City car bearing registration number JK02AL-3404 was stopped. During checking, 64 rolls of banned nylon thread were recovered from the vehicle and the driver identified as Sahil Behal, of Bakshi Nagar, District Jammu was arrested. On his further disclosure, 1018 rolls of banned nylon thread were recovered from a godown at Talab Tillo in District Jammu.
The arrest and recoveries have been made under the supervision of SDPO Domana Kosheen Koul and SP Rural Jammu Sanjay Sharma.
