Two arrested with heroin

JAMMU, Feb 7: Nagrota police under ‘Operation Sanjeevani’ arrested two persons and recovered heroin from their possession.
As per police sources, based on reliable information, a team from Nagrota police station laid a naka at Ban Toll Plaza and intercepted an Alto K10 car bearing registration number JK09-9773.
During checking, police recovered 100 grams heroin from the possession of driver and his associate and arrested them on the spot.
The accused have been identified as Fiayaz Ahmed, son of Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din of Mugam, Tehsil Handwara District Kupwara and Mohammad Amin Rishi, son of Abdul Razaaq Rishi of Sogam Gundi Machar Tehsil Sogam District Kupwara.
A case under FIR Number 18/17 under Section 8/21 Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered against the accused at police station Nagrota and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Nagrota Inspector Suhail Rashid made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota Amit Sharma and SP Rural Arun Gupta.
