AHMEDABAD, Dec 4: Spiritual leader Sri Sri Ravi Shankar Tuesday asked students to take difficulties in their stride.
The spiritual guru conferred degrees to the students of the Karnavati University at its first convocation ceremony held at the Gandhinagar campus.
Appealing to the students to turn the “stumbling blocks into stepping stones”, Ravi Shankar said, “Don’t think your exams are over. Exams actually start after the university. This is just a preparation. Getting degrees is like an entrance exam for life”.
As many as 120 students were conferred degrees at the occasion. The varsity also conferred an honorary doctorate on Ravi Shankar who was the chief guest for the occasion.
Emphasising the importance of “communication”, Ravi Shankar said, “Success in life depends on communication”.
“Introspection is also essential. Whenever you find stumbling blocks and obstacles in the path, look back and make those stumbling blocks a stepping stone rather than (thinking it them) a hindrance,” he said. He also asked students to meditate which he said is necessary for maintaining “mental hygiene”. “Meditation is a mental hygiene. You teach dental hygiene. A few minutes of meditation is a mental hygiene. It takes away our stress, keeps you in good spirit,” he said. Karnavati University is a state private university founded in 2008. It was granted the status of a university through a state Act last year. (PTI)
