NEW DELHI, May 19: Turmeric futures rose by Rs 34 to Rs 8,438 per quintal largely on the back of pickup in demand at spot markets amid fall in arrivals from producing belts.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, turmeric for delivery in far-month July recovered by Rs 34 or 0.40 per cent to Rs 8,438 per quintal with an open interest of 4,195 lots.
Also, the spice for delivery in June contracts was trading Rs 30 or 0.36 per cent higher at Rs 8,286 per quintal, having an opening interest in 33,880 lots.
