Trucker held with poppy straw

JAMMU, Jan 16: Narwal police today arrested a truck driver along with eight kilograms of poppy straw from Transport Nagar area.
As per police sources, police team from Narwal police post laid a naka at Transport Nagar and intercepted a truck bearing registration number JK02T-6075.
During checking, police seized eight kilograms of poppy straw and arrested the driver of the vehicle, who has been identified as Gurdeev Singh, son of Sarwan Singh of Simble Camp.
A case under Section 8/15 Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered at Trikuta Nagar police station and investigation started.
Police team led by Incharge police post Narwal SI Nayat Ali made the arrest under the supervision of SHO Trikuta Nagar Naveen Angral, SDPO East Mohammad Rafiq Manhas and SSP Jammu Uttam Chand.
