Trucker, associate arrested with poppy straw

JAMMU, May 3: Jhajjar Kotli Police arrested a trucker and his associate along with 31.990 kilograms of poppy straw.
As per police sources, on specific information a team from Police Station Jhajjar Kotli led by SHO Inspector Devinder Singh laid a naka and intercepted a truck bearing registration number PB07S-9688, which was on its way to Punjab from Kashmir.
During checking, police team recovered 31.990 kilograms of poppy straw from the vehicle and arrested the trucker along with his associate.
The arrested persons were identified as Sukhjinder Singh, son of Harbans Singh and Gurmeet Singh, son of Savinder Singh, both residents of Punjab.
A case FIR Number 78/2022 under Section 8/15/25/29 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Jhajjar Kotli and investigation started.
The recovery and arrests were made under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota Pardeep Kumar and SP Rural Jammu Sanjay Sharma.
