JAMMU, Jan 8: Sidhra police under ‘Operation Sanjeevani’ arrested trucker and recovered 6 kilograms of poppy straw from his possession.
As per police sources, on reliable information, a team from Sidhra Police Post laid a naka and intercepted a truck bearing registration number PB06E-2639.
During checking, police recovered 6 kilograms of poppy straw from the vehicle and arrested the driver, who has been identified as Omkar Singh, son of Kapoor Singh, a resident of Khour, Tehsil RS Pura.
A case under FIR Number 18/19 under relevant sections has been registered at Nagrota Police Station and investigation started.
Police team led by Incharge Sidhra Police Post SI Parvez Ahmed made the arrest under the supervision of SHO Nagrota Inspector Deepak Pathania, SDPO Nagrota Mohan Lal Sharma, SP Rural Dushyant Sharma and SSP Jammu Tejinder Singh.
