SAMBA, Nov 28: Mansar police arrested a trucker and recovered 3 kilograms poppy straw.
As per police spokesman, a team from Mansar police post intercepted a truck bearing registration number HR37C-6535 which was on its way from Srinagar towards Samba.
During checking, police recovered 3 kilograms of poppy straw and arrested the driver of the vehicle, who has been identified as Tariq, son of Abdul Rashid of District Pulwama.
A case under FIR Number 189/16 under Section 8/15 Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered against the trucker at police station Samba and investigation started.
Police team led by Incharge Mansar police post SI Imran Khan made the arrest under the supervision of DySP Headquarters Samba Varinder Singh.
