JAMMU, June 7: Jhajjar Kotli seized a truck having fake registration number and arrested two persons.
As per police sources, during checking a team from Police Station Jhajjar Kotli intercepted a truck bearing registration number JK02CC-7322.
During scrutiny of documents, it came to fore that the truck was having fake registration number and its original registration number was HP97A-8757.
During questioning, the driver disclosed that he used fake registration number of JK02CC-7322 for wrongful profits by loading goods from Jammu and Srinagar.
When contacted with the owner of the truck bearing registration number JK02CC-7322, he disclosed that presently his truck is plying on Assam-Guwahati road and all the original documents of the vehicle are with him.
On this, a case FIR Number 137/2022 under Sections 420, 468, 471 and 120-B IPC was registered at Police Station Jhajjar Kotli and two persons including the driver were arrested.
The arrested persons were identified as Shahzad Ahmed, son of Mohammd Iqbal of District Doda and Shafqat Hussain, son of Mohammad Iqbal of Bonjawa District Kishtwar.
The truck has been seized and further investigation into the case is going on.
Police team led by SHO Jhajjar Kotli Inspector Vikram Sharma made the arrests under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota Pardeep Kumar.
