KATHUA, Dec 13: The Truck Operators Union Kathua held a protest demonstration at Govindsar against the cement suppliers for violation of agreement made with them on lifting of cement from Govindsar Railway track.
The protest was led by Union president Ranjit Singh and among others it was addressed by Mohinder Singh secretary of the Union also.
The protesters raising slogans against the Railway authorities alleged that as per the agreement 60 trucks of Union were to be pressed in service by the suppliers for lifting of cement and 40 percent were from other private operators.
But instead of that the suppliers were ignoring the trucks of Union and utilizing the services of private carriers which has generated a lot of resentment among the Union. They said that despite the repeated pleas to suppliers from time to time they failed to make justice forcing the Union to lodge protest.
They also warned to intensify agitation in case the justice was not done to them.
