JAMMU, July 21: A truck loaded with bikes today plunged into Ranbir Canal near Mishriwala on city outskirts.
According to a police official, a truck loaded with 12 bikes of Bajaj was on its way from Jammu to Akhnoor, when on reaching near Mishriwala, the driver lost control over the steering and the vehicle plunged into Ranbir Canal.
He said the mishap occurred today at about 7:45 AM and a police team immediately rushed to the spot and safely evacuated the driver of the vehicle, who got only minor scratches in the mishap. “The truck and bikes loaded in it were also evacuated but they suffered severe damage in the accident,” he added.
The official said that a case under relevant sections was registered at police station Kanachak and investigations started.
