KATHUA, Aug 7: In a bizarre incident, a truck driver was crushed to death under his own truck, near Hatli Morh Police Post, early this morning.
According to the police, a truck driver namely Gurnam Singh, son of Raj Singh resident of Bangla village, Hoshiarpur, Punjab was crushed to death under his own truck after he tried to remove the snag of his vehicle at near here at Hatli Morh. The driver got down and laid down under his truck which was in gear. As the truck was on slope, it moved of its own, and ran over the driver and he was crushed to death on spot. The truck was bearing registration number PB65J-5261, which was on way to Jammu from Punjab. The driver died on spot.
Later on getting the information of the incident, police shifted the body to Kathua Hospital. The body of the driver was handed over to family members after conducting post-mortem for last rites.
A case has been registered at Hatli Morh Police Post for further action.
