JAMMU, May 5: Expressing grave concern over the prevailing water scarcity in TRT Nagrota faced by camp inmates over last two months the All State Kashmiri Pandit Ekta Manch has sought the immediate attention of Lt Governor, Manoj Sinha towards the problem.
In this connection today a delegation of the Manch led by its chairman, Chand Ji Kher called on Deputy Commissioner , Relief, Diwinder Singh Bahu and discussed the issue with him. The delegation demanded that immediate attention be paid to solve the issue as camp inmates were facing acute water scarcity in this scorching Summer heat.
The DC Relief assured them that he will take up the issue with Relief Commissioner. Earlier the delegation also met the Chief Engineer Jal Shakti Jammu, Manish Bhat and apprised him of the problem. The delegation informed him that the camp inmates were facing worst problem due to water scarcity and also urged him to look into the matter.
The CE informed the delegation that the Relief Organisation has to transfer the funds for the water supply scheme in the Camp.
He informed the delegation that the Department will start the work on water supply scheme to the camp only after Relief Organisation transfers funds in this regard.
General secretary of the organisation, Vijay Kumar Pandit and other members were also part of the delegation.
