REASI, July 30: Triple “A” Performing Arts, Reasi, organised one day workshop on Dogra Culture and Costumes at National Bhawani Public School Reasi as an additional activity for the project Audio Visual Programme of Art & Culture, under the scheme Preservation and Development of Cultural Heritage of Himalayas
The programmes was approved and supported by Ministry of Culture Government of India (BTI section) for the year 2016-17. The workshop was organised under the able guidance of Raj Kumar a folk performer of the State while others present on the occasion included Sarver Mir, Sahil Abrol, Anam Khan, Rajesh Ajnabi, Sahil Kumar, Ajay Kumar, Akram Khan and Sohan Lal.
Neelam Kumari, chairperson inaugurated the workshop, wherein about twenty five students from deferent institutions participated. Short scene of dogra costumes and traditions was staged by the participants.
The chief guest in his speech, appreciated the role of organization Triple “A” Performing Arts Reasi for highlighting the importance of cultural heritage of Himalayas in the district Reasi and generating interest among the young generation about our rich cultural heritage through this workshop and audio visual programme of art and culture which are indeed a very powerful medium of dissemination and promotion.
Sarver Mir Advocate and a social activist spoke on the occasion and also urged that such efforts of the organization should continue, contributing towards promoting the cultural heritage and inspiring the young generation to feel pride on the rich treasure of age old generations, which is reflected in the human values, custom and traditions of Himalayan region.
