Tributes to Tushar

Sir,
Capt.Tushar Mahajan,who gave the supreme sacrifice of his life,epitomises indomitable spirit,courage and bravery.The fact that he attained martyrdom on February 21,2016,in a fierce gunbattle with militants hiding in EDI building in Pampore area of Pulwama district in Kashmir speaks volumes about his professionali and valour .Rich tributes have been paid and tearful adieu accorded to the brave son of the soil,Capt.Tushar,by the people of all walks including the Indian Army which bid him an emotional farewell with full military honours.The proud son of the renowned educationist of Udhampur, Dev Raj Gupta (Principal Retd),Captain Tushar Mahajan who attained martyrdom had a cherished desire to serve the Indian Army since his childhood.
The decision of the District Panchayat Tourism Council,Udhampur, headed by DDC,Udhampur to establish a park named ‘Mountain Park NH-44’ spread over an area of 184 kanals at village Malhad along the National Highway and name this park after Martyr Tushar Mahajan,is a welcome step initiated by the District Udhampur administration and it is hoped that more such projects will be undertaken by the State and Union Government in order to immortalise the supreme sacrifice of Captain Tushar Mahajan and perpetuate his memory for centuries to come.
