JAMMU, May 31: Hotel & Restaurant Association Katra today paid rich tributes to late Vikas Mohan, a great film maker, film trade analyst, editor-in-chief of film magazine `Super Cinema’ and son of the soil who had his roots at Jammu.
A meeting in this regard was held under the chairmanship of the Association’s Patron-in- Chief, Parvez Dewan, wherein president of the Association Rakesh Wazir and chairman Shyam Lal Kesar were also present.
Mr Dewan, while speaking on the occasion, said that death of Vikas Mohan was a great loss to the Tourism sector of the State because he was instrumental in bringing the top film industry people to J&K and hosting the major joint functions of film industry. “He made the film fraternity to shoot over here. He himself shot his films over here and he was the force behind the success of Navratra festival’s All India Devotional Song Competition by bringing all film industry people as judges of the event,” Mr Dewan said and added that death of Vikas Mohan was a great loss to the State and tourism in particular.
Rakesh Wazir, while speaking on the occasion, said that Vikas Mohan made very serious and good films like Aarzoo, Libaas, and was leading trade analyst who used to give reviews of the films in leading channels.
“Vikas Mohan was also the vice president of powerful body of film industry, All India Motion Pictures & TV Programme Producers and the biggest thing on it was that he was son of soil and basically was from Jhajjar Kotli, Jammu and the Tourism Industry people will remember him for his contributions towards this sector for all time to come,” he said.

Others, who spoke on the occasion, included Virender Kesar, Advocate Kuldeep Dubey, Ajay Kotwal, Nishant Sharma, Rohit Dubey, Sumit Khajuria, Vishal Sharma, Parbhat Singh, Mohit Dubey and Anil Jamwal.
