Tributes paid to G L Dogra on birth anniversary

KATHUA, July 17: Ex MLC Subash Gupta and others today paid rich tributes to former Finance Minister & Member of Parliament Girdhari Lal Dogra on his 104th birth anniversary.
A large number of people were present next to statue of Girdhari Lal Dogra at Hiranagar Morh and at Girdhari Lal Dogra Memorial Degree Collage Hiranagar today to pay homage to the veteran leader who was known for his simplicity and dedicated service to the people.
While addressing the gathering, Gupta recalled the contribution of Dogra towards the development of the State. He especially highlighted his humility and dedicated service towards poor and deprived section of society, saying one needs to learn from the example set by him to serve the people. He said that Dogra was a leader of the masses and always remained connected with the people’s problems and worked for their redressal throughout his life.
Mr Gupta further said that the people of J&K feel proud that such a great leader was born here at village Bhiya Tehsil Hiranagar.
Prominent among those, who paid tributes, included Daya Vilas (Vice Principal G L Dogra Memorial Degree College Hiranagar) , Anant Ram Dogra, Murari Lal, Narginder Rathore, Parveen Bhagat, Yash Paul Singh, Som Nath Verma, Ruldhu Ram, Master Sat Paul, Bunty Sharma, Romesh Kundle, Kapil Dev Bhagat, Subash Chander Bhagat, Shallu Sharma, Langesh Kumar, Tara Chand Khajuria, Naseeb Chand Bhagat, Ram Ji Dass, Koushal Bhagat, Sunil Bhagat, Banarsi Dass, Paramjeet Singh, Babu Verma, Nitta Sharma, Surat Sharma and others.
