Tributes paid to BS Chib

RS PURA, Jan 13: Former minister RS Chib, Ex-MP TS Bajwa and several others, paid floral tributes to a prominent social activist, writer and former president Amar Kashatriya (Rajput) Sabha, J&K, Thakur Baldev Singh Chib today.
A function was organized at Shatrayian (RS Pura) to celebrate the 96th birth anniversary of Thakur Baldev Singh Chib on Lohri in which a large number of people of the area participated to pay their tributes.
Thakur Baldev Singh was born at Watala (District Mirpur now in POK) and after partition, settled at RS Pura. He played prominent role in 1947 during the migration of refugees from district Mirpur, Poonch and Muzaffrabad.
Former minister RS Chib, while paying his tributes to Late Chib said that he was a great social activist and a human being par excellence. He took the premature retirement from Telegraph Department while serving as Sub Postmaster and devoted his time in writing books, in Urdu and Hindi.
He authored many books which included Amar-Kahani, Athara-Din, Trishul, Jai-Jai Rajasthan, Meri-Pasand and Deva-Watala. He was elected, president of Amar Khashatriya (RAJPUT) Sabha, J&K, four times and contributed a lot for the welfare of the society and own community.
TS Bajwa, former MP (RS) described Thakur Baldev Singh a great public leader, who was socially upright and a secular person and was above caste and creed affiliations. He was totally involved in upliftment of poor and a guiding force for the needy.
The others who paid their tributes described Thakur Baldev Singh a Saint, loved by all and who devoted his life for the service of the poor and down trodden.
