Tributes paid to Shaheed-e-Azam Sardar Udham Singh

JAMMU, July 30: Desh Bhagat Yadgaar Committee paid rich tributes to the freedom fighter Shaheed-e-Azam Sardar Udham Singh on Shaheedi Divas.
The great revolutionary, freedom fighter and the hero of young generation was hanged on 31 July 1940, in Pentonville Prison in London. In this regard a one day seminar was organized at Gurudwara Guru Nanak Dev Jee Complex Chand Nagar, Jammu, to pay rich tribute to him in which comrades, senior trade union leaders and prominent citizens attended the function and shared their views.
Comrade Sukhdev Singh, president, said Desh Bhagat Yadgar Committee salutes to freedom fighter Udham Singh who laid down his life for the country and citizens. On the occasion Indian People Theatre Association led by Hardeep Singh Deep, presented a play Baba Bolda Hai, which was directed by Deepak Virdhi.
J A Kazmi, former Senior AAG, Rathinder Koul IPS, (DIG Retd) and Raj Kumar Social Activist described S Udham Singh an epitome of secularism, who rejected the theory of nationhood of the basis of religion. The Participants appealed Central Government to take up the matter with England Government for the bringing back the belongings of Shaheed Sardar Udham Singh ji from England.
