JAMMU, May 10: Rich tributes were paid to the martyrs, who sacrificed their lives for the sake of the nation.
In a programme organized at Gouri Shanker Temple under the chairmanship of Swami Ram Saras Dass Shastri, people including Prof Surinder Sen from Sanatan Dharam Sabha, Ramsewak Sharma and Roshan Lal Sharma, Zila Sanghchalak Kishtwar paid tributes to martyrs and in their speeches asked people to remain united to fight against anti-national and anti-social elements.
The speakers informed that senior leader of Hindu Raksha Samiti Satish Kumar Bhandari was killed by terrorists on May 10, 1993 and since then this day is being observed as martyrs’ day.
Students of BVM and ABN High School while paying tributes, presented patriotic songs.
