Treat para-militaries equally

The geographical, demographic and administrative dimensions of our country demand that we should have large para-military force available to us to run the country smoothly. BSF, CRPF, ITBP, CISF, SSB and Assam Rifles are among the premier organizations that are rendering very important services to the country. In view of many insurgent organizations active in different parts of the country our para-military forces have to render the critical service of defending the country from internal subversion. In the course of defending the country they are making enormous sacrifices. Especially in some disturbed parts of the country like the Eastern States or J&K or the Punjab previously, the para-military forces were required to render delicate services which caused the martyrdom of many of our jawans in para-military forces.
Keeping in mind the challenges which the paramilitary forces are meeting in new scenario of threat to national security and also keeping in mind the extreme risks which our jawans have to take, we completely agree with the demand of ex-paramilitary forces that their emoluments and service conditions should be brought at par with the army. The element of risk is a common factor that lends strength to the demand of the ex-paramilitary forces. We are already short of personnel in the army and we need to give incentive to the new recruits if we have to maintain a large army and paramilitary forces to ensure law and order in this country. Justice and reason both are on the side of the ex-paramilitary forces and we hope that the Home Ministry will take into account the serious challenges which the paramilitary forces are meeting with determination and grit. The association of the ex-paramilitary forces regrets that even Narendra Modi as Prime Minister did not show them sympathy leave aside meeting their demands. We hope that if anything has gone wrong with the paramilitary forces that will be set right and pension and other benefits will be allowed to them as is the case with the army.
