I write to express my heartfelt appreciation for the recent transportation initiatives in Katra-Kashmir, as reported in your January 3, 2024, edition. The inauguration of six Vande Bharat trains, the helicopter service from Katra to Shiv Khori, and the upcoming Delhi-Katra Express highway demonstrate a commendable commitment to enhancing connectivity and tourism in the region. These projects, totaling 41,000 crores, are poised to transform Jammu and Kashmir into a leading tourist destination. The introduction of the third Vande Bharat train from Delhi to Kashmir and the proposed railway lines will undoubtedly boost tourism, contributing to the economic prosperity of the region. I applaud the Government’s vision and investment in these transformative projects, ushering in a new era of development for Katra-Kashmir.
