JAMMU, Mar 30: The 5-day Transcendental Meditation (TM) programme organized by School of Philosophy and Culture, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU), Katra concluded today.
Prof Bhuvanesh Sharma, VC, Maharishi Mahesh Yogi Vedic University, MP was the main resource person along with Archana Sharma, Instructor TM and Sukhbir Singh, Instructor TM from Jammu.
The programme began with an open session introductory lecture, followed by the personal interview and personal instruction the next day.
The programme continued for three more days which included daily meditation sessions, followed by the videos depicting teachings by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, to learning a holistic approach towards life.
There was a participation of more than 30 people including staff and students. The program emphasized on the effects of the transcendental meditation such as Improved Brain Functioning, Increase in Intelligence and Mental Ability, Improved Academic Performance, Growth of Positive Qualities, Reduction in Negative Qualities, Increased Creativity and Cognitive Flexibility, and many more.
On valedictory function, some of the participants shared their experiences of the programme.
At last, vote of thanks was delivered by Dr Varun Kumar Triparthi, Director, School of Philosophy and Culture, SMVDU.
