SRINAGAR, Oct 5: Chief Secretary Madhav Lal today underscored the need for upgrading skills and enhancing employability of the youth in consonance with the open market requirements.
“Training should lead to essential skill development and gainful employment” he said, adding that all available resources of the Government departments and private sector within and outside the State need to be converged to realise the objectives and goals of the skill development initiative undertaken by the State.
Chief Secretary was speaking while chairing a joint meeting on skill development of youth belonging to border districts and families of construction workers with high ranking State officers, representatives of Micro Small and Medium Enterprises, Central Institute of Plastics Engineering and Technology (CIPET), Central Institute of Hand Tool (CIHT) Ludhiana, Fragrance and Flavour Development Centre (FFDC) Kanauji and senior officers from Prime Minister’s Office.
As many as 300 youth will be undergoing training in high end and conventional courses under the programme. The selected youth will undergo 6 months training course at MSME, CIPET and FFDC institutes/centres and develop skills in machine operations -injection moulding, plastic processing, Product and mould design using CAD/CAM/CAE, sheet metal processing machine maintenance and automation, and in other hand tool and machine tools.
