KATRA, Feb 15: Eight-day training program entitled “NEP Orientation & Sensitization Program” began today the UGC-Malaviya Mission Teacher Training Centre (MMTTC), Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University, Katra.
The program is being conducted for University and College teachers from all over India. The training program is based on India’s National Education Policy 2020. By participating in the program, the faculty members get trained to impart holistic education, ICT, Indian Knowledge System, Research, Management.
Prof Pragati Kumar, Vice Chancellor SMVDU asked all the participants to maximize their learning from this program.
The inaugural address was delivered by the Prof Supran Kumar Sharma, Director MMTTC SMVDU who dwelt upon the role of NEP-2020 which is founded on the five guiding pillars of Access, Equity, Quality, Affordability, and Accountability. He dwelt upon the need for sensitizing faculty members in realizing their role in futuristic institution building in the Indian education policy ecosystem. He also spoke about aspects of redesigning the higher education ecosystem as envisaged by NEP 2020 which requires strengthening the role of the Faculty.
The Coordinator of the program is Dr Surender Singh and Dr Anil Kumar Bhardwaj. Dr Pabitra Kumar Jena coordinated the inaugural session which was supported by the MMTTTC team comprising of Dr Sharada Potukuchi, Prof Raghvendra Mishra, Prof Ankush Anand, Dr Sunanda and Dr Kamaldeep.
The event spread over eight working days shall include 16 technical sessions and the speakers have been specifically selected from various institutions of the country to enunciate the need for imparting training and skills to faculty members for the smooth and successful implementation of NEP-2020 as per the UGC at institutions of higher learning across the country.
This program will also ensure holistic development of the teachers and learners with the inculcation of ethics and human values as enshrined in Indian culture and develop multidisciplinary and critical thinking abilities in them.
