Train services resume from Baramulla to Anantnag after 2 days

railSRINAGAR : Train service was resumed in the Kashmir Valley after remaining suspended for two days due to heavy snowfall.
However, train services have been remaining suspended between Anantnag- Qazigund and Banihal because of heavy accumulation of snow on the track since December 31.
Officials said train services resumed between Baramulla in north Kashmir and Anantnag in south Kashmir via Srinagar today.
With the improvement in weather, train services were allowed.
But, they said as a precautionary measure train services between Anantnag and Banihal remained suspended. Efforts are being made to resume it at earliest, they added.
Air traffic was resumed yesterday while the national highway, connecting the Kashmir valley with the rest of the country, remained closed due to snowfall and slippery road conditions. (AGENCIES)
