SRINAGAR: Train service between Baramulla in Kashmir and Banihal in Jammu region has been suspended due to security reasons following clashes between protestors and security forces at several places.
“Train service on Srinagar-Baramulla track has been suspended following clashes between demonstrators and security forces in Pattan area in Kashmir,” a railway official said.
He said trains running between Srinagar-Baramulla was functioning only till Pattan from the last three days due to protests. However, today the railway service was completely suspended due to security reasons.
Meanwhile, he said train services between Badgam in Kashmir to Banihal region was also suspended due to security reasons following clashes between security forces and protestors at Anantnag, where a militant was killed in an ongoing encounter. (AGENCIES)
