‘Train 18’ trial run from Delhi to Katra conducted successfully

JAMMU: The trial run of country’s fastest train ‘Vande Bharat Express’ was conducted on Monday from Delhi to Katra via Jammu Tawi Railway Station.
Country’s fastest train ‘Vande Bharat Express’ will soon be running from Delhi to Jammu to Katra and vice versa twice a week.
The distance of 10 to 11 hours, will be cut short by three to four hours as the Express will cover it in just seven hours.
“The Train reached at Jammu Tawi Railway Station this afternoon at around 1245 hrs and left for Katra,” official sources here said.
They said that the train returned from Katra and departed for Delhi.
The officials of Northern Railways boarded the train to monitor speed, timing and other facilities before it’s launch for the public.
Famous as ‘Train-18’ and commonly known as ‘Chair Car’, the train, which was flagged off on February 14 by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi between Delhi-Varanasi, will soon run between three prominent cities including Jammu.
“The ‘Vande Bharat Express’ will run on three routes including Delhi-Jammu-Katra, Delhi-Mumbai and Delhi-Howrah,” sources said.
“Including Rajdhani, journey from Jammu to Delhi in all super fast trains are covered in 10-11 hours but once ‘Train-18’ be operational, it will cover the same distance in seven hours, which will save around three to four hours,” they maintained.
