JAMMU:  Traffic Police City has realized a fine of Rs. 1.5 crore from the violators and about 86239 vehicles have been challaned besides 1600 vehicles have been seized during the last six months.

Acting on the complaints from general public against commercial vehicles especially Matadors/Mini Buses, Traffic Police launched special drives during which about 21693 vehicles Matadors-Mini Buses have been challaned and revenue of Rs.3988850 has been realized as fine from the violators. Similarly, 26229 Motor bikes have been challaned and fine of aboutRs. 3807490 has been realized from them.

 Traffic Police City Jammu has made strenuous efforts to curb the menace of traffic violation especially in visible offences. Besides awareness campaigns have been launched to educate the public about the traffic rules especially among the school going children in order to check accidents.
