Traffic on Mughal Road resumes, one-way traffic to continue on Kashmir Highway

SRINAGAR : Traffic on the historic Mughal Road, linking Shopian in South Kashmir with Rajouri and Poonch in Jammu region, was resumed now after remaining suspended since yesterday afternoon due to fresh snowfall.
Meanwhile, one-way traffic continued on the National Highway, connecting Kashmir Valley with rest of the country, and vehicles will ply from Srinagar to Jammu today.
A traffic police official said that traffic on 86-km-long Mughal Road was resumed at 1030 hrs after remaining closed since yesterday afternoon due to fresh snowfall, particularly at Pir-ki-Gali.
“We have allowed vehicles from Rajouri and Poonch to Shopian after the snow was cleared at 1030 hrs,” he said.
Traffic on the road was suspended due to fresh snowfall yesterday and  about a dozen vehicles had to return back to Shopian.
