UDHAMPUR, Oct 4: The traffic on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway remained disrupted between Chenani and Udhampur for several hours due to massive traffic jam today.
Reports said that due mis-management on the part of Traffic Police authorities and single road at various places after land slides in view of recent rains on the National Highway, the movement of vehicular traffic has been badly affected in this area. A large number of trucks had been stopped by the Traffic police. The light motor vehicles, including passengers carriers like Tata Sumo, Tempo Travelers etc made the second line and with this massive traffic jam was caused at 2-3 places on this stretch during the day. The traffic remained disrupted for several hours and the passengers had to face tough time during the blockade.
It has become a routine affair now on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway after recent rains and landslides. The commuters are facing hardships while travelling between Srinagar and Jammu. The general public alleged that it is happening mostly due to mismanagement caused by the Traffic police authorities on the Highway.
