Traditional parties responsible for backwardness of border area: Manjit

POONCH, July 24:  Former minister and provincial president of Apni Party, Manjit Singh accused the traditional political parties including BJP, Congress, National Conference and PDP for underdevelopment, discrimination and backwardness of border villages of Poonch- Rajouri districts.
Addressing political meeting in Poonch, organized by the District president and Ex-MLA, Shah Mohammed Tantray today, Manjit Singh said that the border districts lack development because of deliberate ignorance of the previous Govts which can be witnessed from the poor infrastructural development of roads and other basic facilities.
“The Poonch City roads and the condition of the link roads leading towards the border villages are in shabby condition and they require attention of the authorities. However, the public remains unsolved with no adequate supply of electricity, clean drinking water and health care facilities,” he said.
Singh said that Apni Party is committed for equitable development of all the regions of J&K and the villages without any discrimination. He accused the traditional political parties like Congress, NC, PDP and BJP for misleading the people of Poonch and exploiting them for their vote bank.
Former MLA Shah Mohd Tantray highlighted various issues being faced by the people of this border district due to backwardness in the villages and poor pace of developmental activities in Poonch.
He said that hundreds of people are joining the Apni Party because of its policies and agenda of equitable development of regions, protection of land and employment rights of the local population.
He further said that also said that the Apni Party is committed to provide free of cost 500 units of electricity and 300 units of electricity in Jammu during summer season and similarly the people of Kashmir would get 500 units of free electricity during winter season and 300 units in summer season.
During meeting, dozens of prominent people including Ehsan Ilahi, Haji Aslam, Haji Rafiq, Faiz Zahoor, Mehmod, Nazir Choudhary Maharkot and others joined the cadre.
The meeting was also attended by senior leaders- Faqir Nath, Arun Chibber, Dr Rohit Gupta, Ajaz Kazmi, Vipul Bali, Basir Ahmad, Surjan Singh, Kuldeep Singh and others.
