Traditional Darbar offices reopen in Jammu, Mufti takes Guard of Honour

JAMMU :  The traditional Darbar Move offices today reopened here in this winter capital of the state amid tight security arrangements.
The Darbar Move offices start working this morning after the customary guard of honour by the Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed.
Mr Sayeed after the Guard of Honour ritual, had a round of the Civil Secretariat and inspected the offices of various departments.
All senior officers from police, administration besides ministers were present on the occasion.
Meanwhile the winter capital was facelifted ahead of Darbar Move as roads were repaired, damaged street lights replaced and the route adjoining the Civil Secretariat has also been closed for regular traffic in view of security reason.          Police, para-military troops have been deployed around the Secretariat Complex while the District Administration has also imposed Section 144 CrPC as preventive measure.          Darbar Move is over 150-years old exercise started during Maharaja’s time.
Former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah had many times sought ending of this exercise in the welfare of the state and interest of state exchequer. (UNI)
