Traders protest as rain water enters shops

MENDHAR, July 30: The traders of  Mendhar town held protest demonstration today after rain water entered into their shops due to heavy rain last night.
The rain water entered into nearly 30 shops in the main Bazar during last night. There is no proper drainage system in the main market and due to  continuous water logging, the traders are suffering a lot. Their goods got damaged in the rain. Due to heavy rain last mid night the water again entered the shops and caused damage. They raised slogans against the BDO and the administration for ignoring their plight.
The traders bocked the road and started protest at around 10 am. Later, SDM  and SDPO reached the spot along with SHO. The R&B authorities were directed to clear the drains. The staff concerned then started work at war footing by removing encroachment on the drains by the shopkeepers with the help of police. SHO Bishnesh Kumar himself was monitoring the work. They broken the slabs in front of many shops to clear choked drains.
