BARAMULLA, Apr 7: Independent Councillor Touseef Raina has been elected as president of the Municipal Council Baramulla (MCB) defeating his opponent by five votes, here today.
Raina secured 12 votes, out of total 19 votes, while his opponent Mudasir Tantray bagged seven votes.
It is pertinent to mention here that the said election was previously challenged in High Court and was subsequently put on hold by the Court. Later, the High Court cleared the decks for election.
