Tourist, Trade, Hotel industry highlights problems

JAMMU, Nov 14: A deputation of All Jammu Hotels Lodges Association and Jammu Paryatan Vikas Mandal, led by Inderjeet Khajuria, called on the Minister for Housing, Horticulture and Culture Raman Bhalla and apprised him of the problems being faced by the Tourist, Trade and Hotels industry.
The Minster while listening patiently informed that the Supreme Court of India has awarded clearance to the long pending Jammu Ropeway Project and the same shall start anytime now. The Minister also conveyed telephonic instructions to the Deputy Commissioner Jammu and the Managing Director J&K Cable Car Corporation for immediate completion of the land acquisition process for starting the work early.
Hailing environmental clearance by the Apex Court to the Gandolla project between Mubarakmandi and Mahamaya temple, Inderjeet Khajuria said that the project was conceived as an attempt with the sole objective of retaining of tourists in Jammu city to make it an independent destination with a view to compensate anticipated losses which Jammu is going to suffer as a result of Rail link being extended to Katra.
He also appealed the Chief Minister to ensure completion of other projects such as Tawi Lake project, Mubarak Mandi Heritage Project, retrieving its glory and illumination, Bagh-e-Bahu Laser lighting, Golf Course Sidhra etc which will definitely help boost Tourist, Trade and Hotel Industry.
