CHANDIGARH, Jan 18: Department of Tourism, Jammu and Kashmir participated in a road show at CII office, Chandigarh on Wednesday.
As per a statement, the road show organised by the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, was a precursor to the Global Investors’ Summit 2023, which is scheduled to be held from April 10-12, 2023 at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi.
The press statement further said that the road show which witnessed the presence of entrepreneurs from all walks of life was organised within the precincts of Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Chandigarh.
It said that under the supervision of Secretary Tourism, Sarmad Hafeez, a team of officers headed by Sunaina Sharma Mehta, Joint Director Tourism Jammu represented Jammu and Kashmir with a purpose of exchange of ideas and best practices to promote investments in tourism sector of J&K.
“The Joint Director Tourism motivated the participants to invest in the UT of J&K and also explore the tourist destinations across J&K,” it said.
She also spoke about the investment opportunities and multiple tourism products, tourism attractions, promotion of trade and culture of J&K, it said.
The participants were also acquainted about the reforms undertaken by J&K Government regarding investment in industries, film making, and outsourcing of assets.
The officer also highlighted that J&K is the first Union Territory of India to integrate with the National Single Window System besides the fact that J&K also ranks first amongst all UTs in National e-governance service delivery.
She also discussed the industrial policy 2021-30, J&K tourism policy 2020 and J&K film policy 2021 in detail with the participants.
