UDHAMPUR, Jan 19: Twelve-day educational-cum-motivational tour to Gaya, by the female senior citizens of Skara village in Leh, was flagged in by GOC 14 Corps.
The ladies during the goodwill tour visited various tourist and historical places in and around Gaya. These included visit to Mahabodhi Temple, Thailand and Sri Lanka Monestry, Vishnu Temple, visit to Nalanda and Rajgir. The participants also visited Officer Training Academy (OTA), Gaya and interacted with the officers and trainees at the Academy.
The Operation Sadbhavana tour for the senior citizens of Ladakh will go a long way in bringing to light the development of the rest of the country and provide them with a better understanding and respect for other cultures. The experience gained by the elderly ladies will enable them to sow the seeds of National Integration and peace amongst the younger generation.
GOC 14 Corps addressed the senior citizens and exhorted them to spread the message of peace and unity in their respective villages as also share with the younger generation, their experiences.
