Srinagar: Most wanted Pakistani Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) Kashmir commander Abu Dujana killed in an encounter with security forces in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
However, Lashkar commander Dujana managed to give a slip to the security forces in Kashmir for 11 times.
On Tuesday early morning, a joint team of Army’s 50 RR, Special Operation Group of Jammu and Kashmir Police and 183, 182 battalions of CRPF cordoned off the Hakirpora village of Pulwama following specific information about the presence of some terrorists in the area.
“Soon after the joint team of forces intensified the operation and fired several warning shots towards the suspected spot, the terrorists hiding inside the area opened fire triggering off an encounter,” said a top police official.
He said that the house in which Dujana was hiding was blasted by the security forces.

Sources told that Pakistani Commander Abu Dujana had also married a local girl in Pulwama, and was involved in the killing of hardcore Lashkar’s Over Ground Worker Mohammad (OGW) Yousuf Lone of Gudoora. After his killing, the local support for Lashkar Commander Dujana was decreasing day by day, as Yousuf was well connected and very famous with the locals in Pulwama area.
“Even the handlers of Dujana in Pakistan were against him for the killing of OGW Yousuf and marrying a local Kashmiri girl,” he said.
He said after marrying a local girl, he was almost silent, which had upset his handlers. Recently, he had met Zakir Musa in Tral forests, and was planning to join Musa’s newly formed terror group.
Mohammed Yousuf lone’s bullet-ridden body was found near Roumshi Nulah in Gadoora village of Pulwama district.
Hailing from Gilgit-Baltistan area of Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir (PoK), Dujana infiltrated in Jammu and Kashmir in 2010. Since then, he is not only operating in different parts of Kashmir but has also managed to establish strong local modules in south Kashmir.
Lashkar Commander Abu Dujana made his first dramatic appearance at a funeral of local Lashkar militant in 2014 in Kakpora area of Pulwama. He also attended the funeral of Hizbul Commander Burhan Wani in Tral area of South Kashmir last year in July. Since then security forces are looking for the him but was not been able to capture him because of the local support.

Dujana, who was A++ category terrorist, was carrying Rs 30 lakh bounty on his head from different security agencies. He has also been photographed somewhere in South Kashmir along with an AK 47.
National Investigation Agency has announced a cash reward on the head of Dujana, who was wanted for his role in the Udhampur attack in which two BSF personnel were killed and a dozen injured. Pakisatni commander Dujana was the most wanted terrorist in Kashmir Valley, who is involved in several attacks in South Kashmir including two Fidayeen attacks in Entrepreneurship Development Institute building and attack on BSF in Udhampur last year.
Recently, Dujana had slipped out of security forces ambush in Pulwama district of South Kashmir after a brief encounter.
Abu Dujana succeeded Pakistani terrorists Abu Qasim who was killed on October 29, 2015 in a encounter with security forces in Kulgam area in South Kashmir.
