Tony visits Nanowali village, takes stock of people problems

JAMMU, Dec 22: District Development Committee (DDC) Member Suchetgarh, Taranjit Singh Tony during his visit to Nanowali village today to take stock of people’s problems, expressed satisfaction over the resolution of almost 30-year old pond water-logging and resulting blockade of Village Nanowali Talab.
During his interaction with the locals of Village Nanowali, the DDC member was apprised by them of multiple problems being faced by them mainly pertaining to drainage and road connectivity. Tony gave a patient hearing to the woes and concerns of the people and assured to take up their issues with the concerned authorities and get the same resolved at the earliest.
In his address on the occasion, the DDC member said that it was a matter of satisfaction for him to have got the issue of pond water blockade at village Nanowali resolved after hectic efforts with Sarpanch Manjit Kour and former Sarpanch Rashpal Singh Gill putting in their best efforts and contribution in resolving the water issue.
He said that this issue had been pending for the past over 30 years and even former MLA of BJP, who was also the former Cabinet Minister could not resolve this serious issue due to which people had to wade through knee-deep water overflowing on the main road and streets in the vicinity of Nanowali.
Sarpanch Manjit Kour, former Sarpanch Rashpal Singh Gill, Youth leader Jagga, Naresh Kumar, Sandeep Singh Mangi, Lambardar Baldev Raj, Bhan Singh, Ch Atma Singh, Sham Lal Bhagat, Shashi Bhagat, Sarpanch Roshan Bhagat, Capt (Retd) GS Sandhu, Jeeta Beopari and Panch Baldev were among others present on the occasion.
