JAMMU, Sept 13: Accusing BJP Government of squeezing countrymen under high inflation with an aim to benefit corporate friends, Aam Aadmi Party’s senior leader and DDC member T S Tony today said that there is no reduction in price of Petroleum products in domestic markets despite the price in international market at record low since February.
Addressing a press conference in party’s Jammu office, Tony said that prices of petrol and diesel are directly related with the inflation in country and any increase or decrease in price of these products in domestic markets directly relates with fluctuation of inflation.
“There should have been a decrease in petroleum products rates in domestic market to extend benefit of low price to countrymen but no such step has been taken by the Government which clearly establishes that it is keeping countrymen deprived of this benefit,” said Tony.
AAP leader alleged that BJP Government was squeezing citizens of country under high inflation with an aim to benefit corporate friends. “ Government is supposed to do public welfare when benefits are percolated to the last man but the situation in the country is quite contrary where citizens are being kept deprived of those benefits also which should have been extended to them.” he said.
Tony further mentioned about high inflation in country and said that the price of one litre of mustard oil was around seventy rupees an year ago which is now approximately close to two hundred rupees and has witnessed a sharp rise of two times and same is the situation with rates of LPG cylinders, construction material, other eatables. “Government’s intention to further crush the masses in country under high inflation can be gauged from the recent move of imposing GST on eatables,” he added.
AAP leader asked BJP Government to introspect on its anti people policies to get the rates of petroleum products in domestic markets reduced with respect to reduction in international market so that a common man in the country can get benefit of low price in international market and there can also be a sigh of relief from high inflation.
