JAMMU, Nov 26: The Trikuta Nagar Welfare Society (TNWS), led by its President Rajinder Parshad Kakkar, today conducted a comprehensive review meeting of the society.
The gathering, attended by prominent figures including Er Ashok Kumar Arora, Dr T R Gupta, K K Mahajan, S N Kaul, Dr Arun Gandotra and Varinder Kumar Suri, addressed pressing concerns and outlined essential demands for the betterment of Trikuta Nagar colony.
Residents highlighted the chronic water scarcity in Ward 54, stressing the urgent need for a new bore well. Despite a project submission to higher authorities three years ago, they said, no tangible progress has been made, leaving residents grappling with water shortages monthly.
The health sector took center stage at the meeting, with a call for a daily MD physician specialist, anti-rabies vaccination facilities, and upgraded infrastructure at the Urban Health Centre. The requested additions include essential medical machinery such as x-ray, ECG, and a blood collection center, along with Ayush medical facilities.
Traffic safety emerged as a paramount concern, with a plea for a small rotary at the police station and main market crossing to prevent accidents.
The residents further urged the Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) to disseminate a helpline number for prompt street light repairs and replacements through various media channels. This proactive approach aimed at empowering the public to report issues post-councillor tenure, fostering a safer environment and mitigating concerns related to stray dogs.
The society collectively called upon District Magistrate Jammu and Chief Engineer PHE Jammu to personally address these longstanding issues.
They appealed the higher ups for site visits with field staff, issuing time-bound directives, and allocating sufficient funds to expedite remedies.
The meeting concluded with a fervent commitment to realizing these essential improvements for the well-being of Trikuta Nagar residents.
