JAMMU, June 3: Three people were injured, two of them critically when LPG cylinder leak triggered a fire in a three-star hotel at holy town Katra.
As per police sources, LPG cylinder leak triggered a fire in the kitchen of three-star KC Residency Hotel, Katra, the base of Holy Cave Shrine of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi, in which three hotel employees suffered burn injuries.
The injured were rushed to Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Katra, from where all were later referred to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) for advance treatment.
In the incident, Gulshan, son of Ishar Dass of Agar Jitto, Katra and Pankaj, son of Kaku Ram of Billawar, district Kathua received around 90 per cent burn injuries, while Dalip Singh, son of Rattan Singh of Tikri, district Udhampur received 30 to 35 per cent burns.
The condition of Gulshan and Pankaj was stated to be critical, while the condition of Dalip Singh was stated to be stable, when last reports came in.
The exact loss could not be ascertained yet, while a case in this regard has been registered at police station Katra and investigation started.
It is to mention that, four people, including a cop, were charred to death and ten others sustained burn injuries when fire broke out in NC leader’s “Neelam Hotel” near General Bus Stand in the winter capital of the State during the intervening night of May 30 and 31.
