RAJOURI, May 13: Three persons were injured in a road accident after a Swift car collided with a tipper today in the Chingas area of along the Rajouri-Jammu National Highway.
Reports said the Swift car, bearing registration number JK12-7605, was on its way from Poonch to Jammu when it was hit by an oncoming tipper near Chingas. The impact of the collision was severe, leaving the car badly damaged and all three occupants injured.
The injured were identified as Natin Bakshi, son of Manoor Bakshi; Manmeet Singh, son of Parteem Singh; and Anil Kumar, son of Chunni Lal, all residents of Poonch.
Soon after the accident, locals and police personnel rushed to the spot and shifted the injured to Government Medical College Rajouri for treatment. Hospital sources said the injured are under medical supervision.
Police have registered a case and taken both vehicles into custody. An investigation has been launched to ascertain the exact cause of the accident. Preliminary reports indicate that overspeeding or negligence may have led to the mishap.
