JAMMU, Oct 9: Police arrested three persons along with 1.5 quintals of banned forest produce ‘nagchatri’ from Nagrota.
As per police sources, police team from Nagrota police station during checking at TCP intercepted a Maruti car bearing registration number JK02M-3105.
During checking, police recovered 1.5 quintals of banned forest produce ‘nagchatri’ and arrested three persons including driver of the vehicle.
The accused have been identified as Baldev Singh (driver), son of Kaku Ram, Ravi Kumar, son of Om Parkash and Joginder Singh, son of Madan Lal, all residents of Chaduta, district Doda.
A case under FIR Number 223/15 under Section 379 RPC and 6/15 Forest Act has been registered against the accused at Nagrota police station and investigation of the case is going on.
Police team led by SHO Nagrota Inspector Dilip Singh made the arrests under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota Bharat Bhushan Sharma, SP Rural Rajeev Pandey and SSP Jammu Uttam Chand.
